Kohl's fountain in the Prague Castle

Kohl’s fountain you will find in the second court yard of Prague Castle . It is also called Lion fountain or Leopold’s fountain after the emperor, who ruled in the time when it came to being.

This sandstone fountain is one of the oldest fountains in Prague and it comes from 1686. The author of the design was Hieronymus Kohl.

It was important and one of the biggest reservoir of water for Prague Castle and water from it was used also to stop wildfires.
